Alex Tonks

Alex established CRU's office in Sydney and has been leading the region since 2013.

Prior to joining CRU, Alex worked for over a decade as a commodities analyst at several major banks including Citigroup and Merrill Lynch, for a period of 12 years where he covered bulk commodities and base metals.

He was then appointed as manager of Market Analysis at Xstrata, where responsibilities included the formulation of the company's business strategy, marketing plans, budgeting and work on business development and M&A reviews and analysis.

Alex brings extensive multi-commodity experience and expertise in the financial analysis of resource companies and assets.

Alex holds a Master of Commerce (Majoring in Finance) and BEng in Mining Engineering and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
