Taylor joined CRU Consulting in 2007 and delivers targeted, actionable advice to senior decision makers and stakeholders up and down the base metals, battery materials and aluminium value chains, emphasising sustainability trends and the critical minerals enabling the energy transition.
Currently based in Denver and working within CRU’s Pittsburgh team, Taylor has been based in CRU offices in Seattle, London and Santiago, providing clear recommendations and insightful analysis at the intersection of economic, financial, market and technical forces.
He has worked on projects on six continents, spanning mining and metals value chains from exploration to recycling, as well as strategic decision-making support concerning supply chains and sourcing, government policy, project development, production and marketing – advising producers, consumers, governments and investors, including lenders on project financing engagements.
He has led risk-adjusted analysis and techno-economic modelling of some of the world’s largest and most complex mining and metallurgical operations, in addition to extensive modelling of supply, demand, costs and prices. In recent years, he has delivered numerous regional and global studies of secondary aluminium and scrap market dynamics.
Taylor holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering and Technology Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with an area of specialisation in Engineering Physics, both from the Colorado School of Mines. He has also completed two semesters of postgraduate study in Economics at Umeå University.
