Ben Carstein

Ben is the Product Manager for CRU's asset level services, based in Sydney. He has responsibility for defining CRU’s vision, strategy and road map for asset level services, working with customers to understand the problems they need to solve and is responsible for the product development process for asset level services in collaboration with our Technology, Sales, Marketing and Analysis teams.

Ben has over 20 years’ experience in market strategy, industry analysis, and macroeconomics. Prior to joining CRU, Ben led Market Strategy and Industry Analysis teams at Rio Tinto in Singapore and London, and covered copper, copper by-products, coal and diamonds. Prior to this, Ben was the Group Economist at Tata Steel, based in London. Ben started his career as a macroeconomist at the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance in Melbourne.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics and an Honours degree of Economics at Monash University.
