CRU is pleased to announce the appointment of Rodrigo Toro as Associate Director, based in Santiago, for our global copper consulting and research businesses. He joined in August 2018, following his retirement from Codelco in April 2018.
Rodrigo brings with him more than 40 years of experience in the copper trading market. He has worked with many of the established copper producers, holding commercial and trading positions.
Rodrigo started in Codelco in 1976, focusing on molybdenum sales before being appointed as Molybdenum Manager based in London. After Codelco, he was hired by Refimet during the construction of the Altonorte smelter, with the responsibility for securing feed to the new project as well as being in charge of the smelter products sales. He then joined Collahuasi where he stayed for 10 years as VP Commercial and in 2008 he moved to Anglo American Chile as Senior Marketing VP. From 2010 he was the Senior Sales VP of Codelco.
